Release date:April 21, 2021

Dear Colleagues,

We are delighted to announce that as of April 21st 2021, Budweiser APAC became the first publicly listed company in the beer sector in APAC to sign the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), a joint initiative between the UN Global Compact and UN Women founded in 2010. Becoming a signatory solidifies Budweiser APAC’s commitment to empower and inspire women in the workplace and society, and to create a business environment where women can work, lead and excel in their careers.

“Women represent half of the world’s population; however, women remain underrepresented in the global workforce. At Budweiser APAC, we recognize that we have a vital role to play in leading the way that we shape the culture of an inclusive workplace where everyone is valued. I am honored to have signed the UN Women's Empowerment Principles because at Budweiser APAC, we are committed to women empowerment that fosters an inclusive workplace.”

Endorsed by our CEO and CPO, we launched the MULAN Club APAC since April 2018. Using the Chinese legendary folk heroine’s name, MULAN Club aims to provide our female colleagues with the opportunity to explore professional growth and unlock their full potentials through the lens of inclusion, inspiration, innovation and self-expression. We kick-started our MULAN Club 2021 agenda with the “Female Leadership Forum: Women Who Brew”, in Wuhan on June 2nd 2021. The Forum highlighted the importance of women’s empowerment, through the sharing sessions of various motivational female leaders who inspired and equipped our female employees with the necessary knowledge, skills and mindset.

At Budweiser APAC, diversity and inclusion have been ingrained in our corporate values. We currently have a workforce comprising more than 20 nationalities and 39% of female colleagues. We are dedicated to building a workplace to support career development for all employees regardless of gender. Promoting women in leadership positions and advocating for underrepresented groups is Budweiser APAC’s priority across all our markets. This ultimately aligns with our ESG and talent cultivation strategies. Together, we strive to be the change-makers and catalysts for a better world!

Cheers!
