International Alliance for Responsible Drinking (IARD) Partnership Announcement

Release date:January 29, 2021

Today, we are announcing a milestone announcement of a new global partnership on Responsible Drinking. It is between the 12 leading global beer, wine, and spirits companies that form the International Alliance for Responsible Drinking (IARD) and 12 prominent global and regional online retailers, and e-commerce and delivery platforms, who operate across six continents.

This marks significant commitment to enhance safeguards to prevent the online sale and delivery of alcohol to minors and reduce harmful drinking among adults.

The announced partnership aims to:
Protect those who are under legal drinking age from accessing alcohol via on-line channels
Prevent on-line delivery to people with visible signs of intoxication
Support regulation at local and national level for responsible alcohol delivery and on-line sales

This is part of our WHO Global Strategy to reduce the harmful use of alcohol and our commitment to improved health and social outcomes for individuals, families and communities. It is also an important step to defend our digital license to operate.

With the purpose of “Bringing People Together for a Better World”, we demonstrate our leadership in smart drinking and community at a global level, with contributing to solutions that reduce harmful drinking and creating positive impact in responsible drinking, and remain committed to strong corporate social responsibility.
