‘Warmth Box Campaign’ is held for eco-refugees in Mongolia

Release date:December 07, 2020

OBC held the ‘Warmth Box Campaign’ with Green Asia Network to help Eco-refugees in Mongolia.

The ‘Warmth Box Campaign,’ a part of OBC’s representative environment campaign 'Cass Forest of Hope,' is designed to help eco-refugees in Mongolia who have lost their livelihoods due to climate changes-especially those who have lost their homes due to rapid climate change and suffer from cold weather that reaches below minus 40 degrees Celsius.

The ‘Cass Forest of Hope’ is OBC’s large-scale environmental improvement project that prevents climate change and desertification by planting trees in Mongolia since 2010. Mongolia’s fine dust and yellow dust is known to harm the environment of Northeast Asia.

Last year, by holding the ‘Warmth Box Campaign,’ a total of 60 boxes that weighed 710kg worth of winter goods were donated from OBC employees and public just over 15 days. In continuation, the campaign is held this year as well. Due to COVID 19, the ‘Warmth Box Campaign’ will do a match grant-a set of quarantine support supplies(a mask and a hand sanitizer) will be provided for the eco-refugees, vulnerable to the COVID-19 pandemic.
