On November 21, "China Green Logistics Development Conference of the Year 2020", sponsored by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, and co-organized by the Green Logistics Committee of China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, was held grandly in Qingdao. Budweiser China was honored as one of the "Green Logistics Innovation Leading Enterprise of the Year 2020" for its commitment to green logistics development, especially its persistent efforts in reducing CO2 emission within logistics. Such as deploying alternative energy vehicles and forklifts, supply footprint optimization, upsizing truck capacities and shifting from road to rail & ship transportation. Feng He, Director of APAC Procurement PSS Operation Director accepted the award on behalf of the company.
Green Logistics Innovation Leading Enterprise
The theme of the Conference was "New Technology, New Model and New Ecology ". It brought together guests and representatives from enterprises, academic, public organizations and other sectors of society. The purpose of the Conference was to integrate green logistics with the government green development policy for carrying forward the sustainable development of logistics industry. The experts and enterprise representatives attending the conference shared topics regarding the integration with development of smart logistics and green logistics, green packaging innovation and practice, enterprise green logistics evolution and strategy. Enterprise representatives from Budweiser, Unilever presented green logistics best practice, displayed enterprise’s excellent result in green logistics area.
Green Logistics Innovation Leading Enterprise of the Year 2020 Awarding
Wenyan Li, Associate Director of China VLC procurement, shared Budweiser China green logistics evolution and result. Since 2014, Budweiser China has embarked on its revolutionary journey of green logistics. In 2019, Budweiser China already achieved 100% use of electric forklifts at its distribution warehouses. This year, the brewer has deployed more than 200 vehicles of alternative energy, such as liquefied natural gas vehicle, electric vehicle and the newly-deployed full cell vehicle (Hydrogen truck). Budweiser is committed to reduce its carbon emissions across the full value chain by 25% by 2025. As part of this overall commitment, China Logistics will reduce its carbon emissions by 40%, a reduction of 70.266 tons of carbon emissions.
