OBC announced that it has donated a total of 58,240 bottles of water (500ml) to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association for victims in typhoon-affected areas.
Through Hope Bridge, OBC promptly donated 2,240 bottles of bottled water to residents in Geoje of the South Gyeongsang Province, affected by the 10th typhoon of the season, ‘Haishen’. Prior to this, OBC donated 6,720 bottles of water to Changwon and Sacheon of the South Gyeongsang Province, which were affected by the season’s 9th typhoon, ‘Maysak’.
“We urgently provided bottles of water to help people living areas damaged by typhoons ‘Haishen’ and ‘Maysak’,” stated an official from OBC. “We hope there is no further damage, and for the prompt restoration of the affected areas.”
In case of emergencies, OBC operates a support system which maintains a supply of bottled water and other relief supplies. Earlier this year, 8,970 bottles of bottled water (2L) were delivered through Hope Bridge for quarantine measures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year, OBC also provided bottled water to areas affected by typhoon ‘Mitag’.
