On July 31th, 2020, the 12th Corporate Social Responsibility Summit was unveiled by Southern Weekly in Guangzhou. Budweiser China, honorably credited as No. 1 in "2019 CSR Rankings for Enterprises in China", was dedicatedly awarded as “ CSR Role Model Company of the Year”. The annual meeting is one of the top standard and highest profile events in the field of corporate social responsibility in China. This time, Budweiser China was honored for its continuous commitment to advocate sustainability in modern Chinese society, outstanding contributions in the field of social responsibility, and influence to actively promote positive social energy.


The China Corporate Social Responsibility Summit, initiated in 2009, is an annual event held by Southern Weekly. The Corporate Social Responsibility Summit has been established as an influential “Chinese Enterprises CSR Appraisal Selection” with over 17 years’ history. The selection is best-known as the earliest initiation, featuring the longest operation duration, the widest coverage and the largest survey data base in the industry. It takes comprehensive consideration on the performance of the responsibilities of three major types of companies, namely state-owned enterprise, private and multinational companies, which has enjoyed a fair and credible reputation in the business circle and society for many years, and has been widely recognized. The selection indicators cover seven aspects, including economic performance, fair operation, products and innovation, employees and safety, community welfare, environmental and social responsibility governance, and evaluate the corporate social responsibility performance from three levels of management, performance and compliance. 300 companies participated in the registration, including Alibaba, Tencent, Huawei, Sanofi and other major companies. In the comprehensive, scientific and objective evaluation system, Budweiser China ranked the first place for its achievements and innovation in smart drinking, sustainability, road safety, and community commitment.


This year’s round-table dialogue session focused on “fighting COVID-19 with responsibility and running business in sustainable ways”. Gracy Gao, Vice President, Corporate Affairs of Budweiser China, said that as a world-leading beer brewing company, Budweiser’s purpose is that “Bring people together for a better world”. A better world represents a healthier, cleaner and safer world. When COVID-19 broke out, Budweiser China donated 11 million of funds and materials at the first time to ensure the safety of front-line medical staff; Budweiser APAC achieved the first company in China and Beer industry to use 100% renewable electricity for production; Budweiser China has held the "Smart Drinking" event for 12 consecutive years, advocating smart drinking, cooperating with multiple parties to explore digital innovation for road safety, launching sustainability projects, etc., and spare no efforts to make a better world.
