OBC held an online closing ceremony for the first ‘OB-Rang(Together With OB)’, a group of college student CSR supporters in collaboration with Korea Green Foundation.

The 24 members of the first ‘OB-Rang’, OBC’s college student supporters selected in March, worked as ‘Eco speakers’ who informed the public of the seriousness of environmental issues and practiced an eco-friendly lifestyle. As the result, over 800 online PR contents have been produced through Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and blogs for the past three months.

‘OB-Rang’ planned and implemented environmental campaigns necessary for emergency situations and conducted various promotional activities to preserve the environment, such as informing the public about the proper way to dispose of masks, which have increased in use due to the COVID-19 pandemic and reducing the use of disposable products in daily life.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the closing ceremony was held in an ‘Ontact’ method via YouTube live streaming. The term ‘Ontact’ combines ‘untact’, meaning ‘non-face-to-face’, with the word ‘On’, representing ‘online’.

Held at the OBC headquarters, a minimum number of participants attended the event in person to practice proper social distancing. The participants included, OBC representatives, the Korea Green Foundation representatives, and the team leaders of each ‘OB-Rang’ team. The ‘OB-Rang’ team members not in attendance, participated in the event and shared their thoughts on their activities through real-time comments via the YouTube live broadcast.

OBC CEO and Korea Green Foundation President delivered words of encouragement to ‘OB-Rang’ and awarded certificates to each of the team leaders in attendance. To conclude the event, the most active and passionate supporter and team during the past 3 months were announced and awarded.

OBC spokesman stated, “It was a very meaningful activity that easily and friendly informed the public of the importance of environmental protection through the youthful sensibility of these dedicated college student supporters,” and added, “We greatly appreciate all of the university student supporters who did their best to overcome a difficult situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, and hope that they continue to be ‘Eco speakers' in their daily lives.”
