7 April 2020 – Anheuser-Busch InBev’s (AB InBev) global brand, Budweiser, a longstanding sponsor of sports and music initiatives, is now backing the most important team – our health care workers around the world. Today, in observance of World Health Day, Budweiser announced the launch of a video celebrating the health care heroes who are directly combating COVID-19 on the frontlines and working tirelessly to save lives.
We support the communities where we live and work, and during these challenging times our commitment is more resolute than ever, so we’re raising our glass for those who heal. Budweiser and its affiliate companies around the world have donated hand sanitizer, water, masks and other much-needed supplies to support the front line.
“This global crisis may be changing how we live our lives, but our commitment to one another is stronger than ever,” said Pedro Earp, Chief Marketing Officer, AB InBev. “Everyone must do their part to support the fight against this pandemic, and we are proud to support the heroes in our hospitals, medical centers and front lines. These individuals embody strength and resilience and we are humbled by their vital work. We invite other companies to use their unique capabilities to join us, however they can, so that together we can make a difference.”
To recognize front line workers, Budweiser has created a 60-second video as a tribute to the brave individuals around the world who are rising above the challenges we face and working tirelessly helping keep everyone safe. They remind us that we are ‘One Team’ and the greatest impact comes when we work together. To watch the video, click here.
We are expanding ‘One Team’ from its initial launch and success in the United States, to regional teams lending support to those who heal throughout Europe, India, South Korea, Brazil and other countries.
In India, AB InBev and Budweiser is engaging with state governments across the country to equip those on the front-line including doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, and police with essential protective equipment and hand sanitizers. As an immediate response, AB InBev has donated over 30,000 litres of hand sanitizers and 25,000 FFP2 masks in Delhi, Maharashtra and Haryana, to support more than 15 lakh frontline workers across these three States. Over the coming weeks AB InBev and Budweiser will continue to work with state governments in India to expand its support, redirecting previously planned sports and music sponsorship to further help those at the frontlines battling COVID-19.
“We have a strong history of supporting our communities across India and in this hour of need, as we weather the challenges posed by the pandemic, we stand in solidarity with them and the government. Through the One Team initiative, we aim to showcase our gratitude to the superheroes on the frontlines and safeguard them as they go beyond the call of duty to protect us, exuding unmatched dedication, selflessness and courage. We remain committed to contribute our resources in this war against COVID-19 and we look forward to emerging triumphant as one team. We are in this together,” said Kartikeya Sharma, President - South Asia, AB InBev.
