OBC (CEO: Ben Verhaert) has rolled up its sleeves for safety of Daegu, the city victimized by COVID-19 outbreak.
OBC announced on 25th that it will provide aid including masks and hand sanitizer to citizens of COVID-19-struck region. The company urgently procured the supplies and products through its own procurement network.
The value of supplies and aid to be extended by OBC amounts to 1 billion won. Sanitary products such as masks or hand sanitizers will be first provided to doctors, nurses and medical staff who are fighting against the virus at the forefront of COVID-19 battle.
“As people suffer from worsening shortage of supplies including face masks, we decided to give pragmatic support to medical staff and citizens by urgently securing the products. We would like to be a part of help in addressing this situation as we prioritize safety of local community and its people in our company principle” said OBC spokesman。
OBC also decided to implement a large-scale supporting plan including delay of maturity date for liquor purchasing loan for its partners and suppliers who are going through management difficulties caused by sales drop from COVID-19 outbreak.
Meanwhile, OBC donated freshwater needed for quarantine of COVID-19 on 3rd of February to Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association.
