As the global leading beer company, sustainability isn’t just a part of our business, it is our business. Our mindsets of sustainable development encompasses the entire value chain, from the most upstream raw materials to logistics, production and manufacture, to the consumable areas and the consumers’ sustainable consumption. Frank Wang, VP Legal & Corporate Affairs, APAC, gave a presentation on the current development and future visions for 2025 Sustainability Goals.

Guest speakers for the training workshops included government representatives for environmental protection/communication, specialists and scholars in various areas, Mr. Ding Limin (Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Publicity Office and Municipal Government News Office), Mr. Zhang Lijian (Deputy director of Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Water Supply Management), Mrs. Li Qionghui (Director of New Energy and Statistics Research Institute of State Grid), Mr. Ma Jun (Director of Public Environment Research Center), He Pinjing (Director of Institute of Waste Treatment and Reclamation, Tongji University), Mrs. Jiang Nanqing (Secretary General of China Plastic Reuse and Recycling Branch of Synthetic Resin Association), Mr. Liu Xiaolong (Deputy Director General of Strategic Consultancy Center of Chinese Academy of Engineering) and other influential VIPs also shared their concerns on major topics in environmental conservation, and taught the journalists how to create reports that are both in-depth and easily understood by readers.

During the two-day training session, green board journalists divided into group and reviewed case studies revolving around topics including waste classification, enterprise sewage disposal, extreme weathers, and ecological cycle economies. They were asked to provide an in-depth analysis within a limited time frame, as well as new proposals of effective solutions. The journalists were also asked to take in consideration the reading preference of the modern readers. Their thoughts and ideas won extraordinarily positive feedback from the judges.

The new sustainable development goals set out by United Nations directly connect with the responses to climate changes. The implementation of these goals is emerging with new momentum and opportunities in combating climate change. Just like Bud APAC’s dream of “Bringing people together for a better world”, our vision for the cities to become better, safer and greener requires the joint efforts from governments, enterprises, NGOs and every single one of you.
