Frank Wang, VP Legal & Corporate Affairs APAC of Bud China, was also invited to join and share his voice during the roundtable session with the theme of “From CSR to Sustainable Commerce”. He dialogued with the industry top experts on the current status and prospects of CSR. About 100+guests, 80+ company representatives, 500+ audiences all gather together by the name of CSR Summit to grandly celebrate the high glossy moment of CSR models.

The Corporate Social Responsibility Summit has been established as an influential “Chinese Enterprises CSR Appraisal Selection” with valuable heritage over 16 years. Based upon the comprehensive surveys on CSR practice operated by Southern Weekly for previous years, it involves and targets at thousands of enterprises for each year. Among those similar media appraisal selections, this survey is best-known as the most earliest initiated one featuring the longest operation duration, the widest coverage and the largest survey data base. 40 companies including AstraZeneca, KFC, GAC Toyota and Bud China won prizes. They are role models of CSR in corporate management, policy guidelines, and project management.

During the roundtable session themed on “From CSR to Sustainable Commerce”, Frank Wang, VP Legal & Corporate Affairs APAC of Bud China shared his views that, Bud China highly values its dream of “Bringing people together for a better world”. Regarding the implementation practice of CSR, the enterprises need to closely combine their business and core values into one for the realization of sustainable development. For instance, Bud China globally released “2025 Sustainability Goals” , which are set upon the specific targets of Smart Agriculture, Water Stewardship, Circular Package and Climate Action. All these commitment are quantitative with the corresponding timeframes transparent for assessment and appraisals. Plus, CSR has a basic notion, namely, “the appeal of stakeholders”, which means any marketing activities overriding the appeal of stakeholders are in vain.

Southern Weekly has showed its concerns over CSR for these tens of years, and it is reputed as time recorders and observer as well as the appraiser of enterprise behaviors and the advocator of CSR values. Just as what Xiang Xiangu, deputy secretary of Party Committee, Vice director of Management Committee and GM in Southern Weekly Media Group, mentioned, “Beside the fortune-oriented economic development pursuits, the social justice and developmental balance is more about national well-beings. Beside GDP-oriented development views, social responsibilities and citizenship personalities are more worthy of being sought after.” Enterprises, institutions, organizations and individuals, all shall break the shackle of single modes in economic orientation and role playing, must stand out to shoulder social responsibilities, and strive for social development balance. In the context of globalization, the positive interaction between governments and enterprises will bring the beneficial outcomes to both society and natural environment. In other words, CSR in China enjoys a promising prospect, and a big arena for innovations.
