(2019-05-17) OBC (CEO Bruno Cosentino) has taken the lead to help local farmers who are suffering from drought in Icheon, where OBC’s brewery is located in.
OBC announced on 17th that it will provide 800 tons of agricultural water used to make beer to farmers of Icheon city who were suffering from drought. The water will be given in steps by June throughout the drought season. This provision was executed in partnership with Icheon City and Ingredion Korea.
n May 17th, Bruno Cosentino, the CEO of OBC, visited farmland in Icheon with Tae-Jun Um, the mayor of Icheon City and Ja-kyu Koo, the CEO of Ingredion Korea to supply about 20 tons of water. OBC will supply 800 tons of water until the end of dry season, while Ingredion Korea supplies water truck. The water provided by OBC received “Eligible” grade for use of farmland.
Tae-Jun Um, the mayor of Icheon City said, “As it is an important time of the year for farming, the city will continue working with local companies to help our farmers.”
Bruno Cosentino, the CEO of OBC said, “As a company with a brewery in Icheon, we thought that we should help and minimize loss of drought along with the local government. We hope our effort is helpful to suffering farmers.”
This year, OBC has announced its new CSR brand, ‘OB Better World’ and is carrying out a variety of activities for local community such as Hometown Scholarship, local child center improvement project ‘Happy Library’, and river cleaning project.
