OBC Holds ‘Family Talk’ to Celebrate Family Month - On May 7, a stage play ‘Family Portrait’ was presented in Icheon Art Hall…as a part of underage drinking prevention campaign

OBC (CEO Bruno Cosentino) hosted a campaign called ‘Family Talk with Stage Play’ on May 7 in Icheon Art Hall, to celebrate Family month, May. In this campaign, a stage play about communication among family members was presented.

‘Family Talk’ is one of representative underage drink prevention campaigns of OBC. Through the campaign with stage play which is easy for anyone to understand, OBC aims to make a venue for public discussion about sensitive family issues such as underage drinking and smoking and to come up with solutions by communicating with one another.

This performance was on stage for the first time in Icheon, where OBC’s brewery is located in. This event is organized with a stage play called ‘Family Portrait’ which is about communication between parent and children and a ‘Talk Concert’ by Professor Youngju Lim who is an expert in family communication.

The stage play ‘Family Portrait’ is an anecdote of a communication-lacking family taking an awkward family photo. The play describes psychological state of each family members which stimulates empathy of audiences. Also, detailed know-hows of family communication such as ‘language empathy’, ‘culture empathy’, and ‘parent empathy’ are well expressed through the play. After the play, Youngju Lim, an expert in family communication, delivered a lecture on desirable ways of talking among family members.

A representative of OBC said, “We have prepared a cultural performance to form a sense of consensus among family members in this family month. As a leading beer company, we will continue to put efforts into making a healthy society and preventing underage drinking.”
